About Us
In the late 1960s, H.L. and Billie Staples dreamed of a more independent and meaningful life for themselves and their three sons. As the majority partner in a 40-sow farrow-to-finish hog operation, they sought independence to determine their own future. In pursuit of this vision, they purchased a 120-acre farm in the southwest corner of Lincoln County, Oklahoma. Since 1971, our family’s roots have run deep in this land, which we have proudly called home for generations.
From 1976 to 1987, the Staples family operated Staples Dairy with sons Brian and David. In 1988, the farm evolved into Staples Redbud Vegetable Farm, a commercial vegetable operation, with H.L., Billie, and their son, David. Two of their grandchildren, Andi and Jon, worked at the farm during their summer breaks from school. When retirement came in 2009, H.L. and Billie were hopeful that their passion for the land had inspired some family members to follow in their footsteps.
Their hopes were answered when, in 2014, their oldest son, Leo, and his wife, Julie, became the next stewards of the farm. In 2019, Leo began adopting regenerative agriculture practices. In doing so, he honored the wisdom of his parents, who had used many of the same practices for decades. Like them, he knew that healthy soil was the foundation of any successful farming operation.
Today, Staples Farm is recognized for producing high-quality polyculture hay and premium Berkshire pork. In 2025, they proudly became a certified Animal Welfare Approved Swine operation by A Greener World. Their pork operation continues to expand; they now offer registered Berkshire breeding stock in addition to butcher pigs. Managing the farrow-to-finish process on pasture allows them to produce exceptional meat quality. In the future, the farm will add pasture-raised broiler chickens, sheep, and beef.
Staples Farm, LLC is a multi-generational partnership that includes Leo and Julie Staples, Andrea and Travis Sandmann, and Jon and Jessica Staples. H.L. and Billie’s great-grandsons, Henry and Wyatt, are in the fourth generation, working together as partners in an authentic farm-to-consumer operation. United in our passion for agriculture and a firm commitment to stewardship, we are guided by the values of faith, family, respect for our animals, and deep care for the land.
